Grand Canyon earns 3-0 win at ERAU

With straight set wins of 25-11, 25-16, 26-24, Grand Canyon defeated Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University 3-0 in Prescott, Ariz. Thursday.
"We did a great job meeting our goals," said GCU coach Kris Naber. "In the third game we came from a deficit. We played solid and we played with confidence."
GCU (10-12) trailed 24-23 before scoring the final three points of the set.
Freshman Kaitlynn Ausmus (Glendale, AZ, Deer Valley) had nine kills and 12 digs. Sophomore Erica Ehlo (Spokane, WA, Lewis and Clark) had 12 kills. Junior Laurann Durbin (Phoenix, AZ, Sunnyslope) had 23 digs.
Junior Stephanie McBride (Newbury Park, CA, Newbury Park, The Master's College) led in blocks with two solos and two assists. Freshman Jessica Posse (Rancho Cucamonga, CA, Rancho Cucamonga) also had two assists. Frosh Kristen Johannsen (Phoenix, AZ, Valley Christian) had one solo and one assist.
Posse led in passing with 18 assists. Sophomore Kristen Preach (Phoenix, AZ, Xavier Prep) had 12.
The win was GCU's second of the season over Embry-Riddle. The Antelopes are off until their four-match trip to Hawai'i. The 'Lopes take on Hawai'i at Hilo Oct. 22-23 and BYU-Hawai'i Oct. 25-26.
