LA JOLLA, Calif. -- Grand Canyon University's men's cross country placed eighth, led by freshman Chris Lewis (Peoria, Ariz./Raymond S. Kellis), at the Triton Invitational hosted by UC San Diego Saturday.

Lewis placed 28th in the 10K race with a time of 35:09.1. He was followed by senior Miles Lindsay (Chula Vista, Calif./Barstow) who was 59th (37:11.7) and freshman Julio Zuniga (Mexico City, Mex./Trevor Browne) with a 70th place finish (38:09.9).

Sophomore Andrew Zappala (Merrimac, Mass./Pentucket Region) placed 73rd (38:46.2) and sophomore Nick Cross (Apache Junction, Ariz./Apache Junction) finished 79th (40:04.3).

Californian William (T.J.) McClarty (pictured, El Centro, Calif./Southwest) finished in 81st place (41:15.7), ahead of teammates Daniel Ontiveros (Phoenix, Ariz./Camelback) and Luke Larm (Buckeye, Ariz./Buckeye), who placed 82nd (42:31.7) and 83rd (45:26.0), respectively.
