Great start in game, great start in PacWest for 'Lopes

BELMONT, Calif. -- Grand Canyon got off to a 16-2 lead and 55-21 halftime lead on its way to an 83-59 victory over Notre Dame de Namur Saturday.
It gave the three-time defending Pacific West Conference Antelopes a 4-0 league record and their second win of a three-game Northern California road trip.
Junior Samantha Murphy (Phoenix, Ariz./Xavier Prep) led all scorers with 25 points. Junior Kia Gibson (Nine Mile Falls, Wash./Lakeside/No. Idaho College) had 16 points. Senior Stacy Haddow (Chino Valley, Ariz./Chino Valley) had a game-high nine rebounds and six points.
Senior Dana Iverson (pictured, Fort Collins, Colo./Fort Collins/W. Nebraska) had eight points and four rebounds. Senior Ashley Hardin (Phoenix, Ariz./Marcos de Niza/N. Arizona) had a team-high four assists to go with seven points and five rebounds. Junior Katie Johnson (Phoenix, Ariz./Deer Valley/S. Mountain CC) added seven points. Murphy had a team-high four steals.
GCU plays its final game on the road trip Monday at Academy of Art.
