Lopes drop PWC match to unbeaten Hilo

Grand Canyon was defeated 3-0 by No. 19 Hawai'i Hilo in a Pacific West Conference match at Antelope Gym Wednesday. 
GCU (9-6, 0-4) lost by set scores of 25-11, 25-20, 25-9. Hilo (15-0, 5-0) remains unbeaten both in the PWC and overall.
Grand Canyon sophomore libero Laurann Durbin (Phoenix, Ariz./Sunnyslope) had 14 digs, one assist and a service ace.
Freshman setter Kristen Preach (pictured, Phoenix, Ariz./Xavier Prep) had 19 assists and three kills.
Senior Whitney Estes (Gardnerville, Nev./Douglas) had six kills, three digs and two block assists. Junior Megan Toth (Phoenix, Ariz./Arcadia) had six kills, one assist and one dig.
Freshman Shelby Taylor (Phoenix, Ariz./Christian) had one block assist and three kills. Senior Jenna Skadeland (Williston, N.D./Williston/Williston CC) had one solo block and one assist and one kill.
GCU will play host to BYU-Hawaii 7 p.m. Friday at Antelope Gym. The teams will also play 7 p.m. Saturday. Fans unable to come to Antelope Gym this weekend can watch all the action on the B2 Network by clicking on the network's link on the upper right of the athletics web site.
