Senior Whitney Estes (Gardnerville, Nev./Douglas) led a balanced attack with 11 kills and .333 attack percentage. Junior Megan Toth (Phoenix, Ariz./Arcadia) had nine kills. Freshmen Kristen Preach (Phoenix, Ariz./Xavier Prep) and Erica Ehlo (Spokane, Wash./Lewis and Clark) each had eight, while frosh Katie Peterson (Glendale, Ariz./Mountain Ridge) and Shelby Taylor (Phoenix, Ariz./Christian) had seven and six, respectively.
The Lopes take on host Hawai'i Pacific Wednesday.
Sophomore libero Laurann Durbin (Phoenix, Ariz./Sunnyslope) had a match-high 32 digs. Toth added 12 and senior Vicky Bauler (pictured, Phoenix, Ariz./Agua Fria) had 10.
Peterson had seven block assists. Taylor, Estes and Ehlo each had four. Taylor and senior Dana Edington (Peoria, Ariz./Centennial) each had one solo block. Setter Preach had 39 assists.
With the score 27-27, consecutive kills by Toth and Peterson ended the third set. A kill by Preach and a Silverswords attack error broke a 24-24 deadlock and finished off the match.
