Kevin Alana joined Grand Canyon as the head athletic trainer for men’s basketball in June 2026.
Alana spent six years at Santa Clara, where he served as one of the Assistant Athletics Directors of Sports Medicine with men’s basketball as his primary sport assignment.
Before arriving at Santa Clara in 2020, Alana worked at High Point as an assistant athletic trainer, overseeing the medical care and injury prevention efforts for the volleyball program.
A graduate of East Tennessee State, Alana earned a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education with a concentration in Exercise Science. He went on to earn a Master of Science in Athletic Training from Boston University. During his time at BU, Alana completed clinical rotations with MIT, Boston University, Minnesota United FC, Northeastern University and Santa Clara. He also volunteered as part of the medical staff for the Boston Marathon during both of his years in Boston.
Born and raised in Morristown, Tennessee, Alana enjoys soccer, golf, video games, weightlifting, mountain biking, backpacking and snowboarding. He is an avid Boston Celtics and Arsenal fan.
