Alaina Bergsma Coble joined the Grand Canyon women's volleyball staff in 2015 and will serve as the program's graduate manager.
Bergsma Coble brings a winning background to the Lopes as she has played at the highest levels of the sport both collegiately and professionally. Most recently, she was a professional athlete following the completion of her career at her alma mater, Oregon. Her competitive travels took her around the globe for tournaments in Brazil, Puerto Rico, Thailand and the Phillipines.
That pro experience was in addition to her stint with the Team USA Indoor Women's Volleyball program in 2013-14.
A 2012 graduate of Oregon with a major in business administration (emphasis in sports marketing) and a minor in economics, Bergsma Coble helped the Ducks to the national title match in 2012 while being awarded the top honor in college volleyball as the Honda Award winner. She was also named the AVCA National Player of the Year, Pac-12 Player of the Year, and earned her second All-America honor on the court. In addition to her athletic prowess, she was singled out for academic excellence as well when she was tabbed an academic All-American as a senior.
