Matt Robinson joined the Grand Canyon sports medicine staff in July 2020 and is in his first year serving as an assistant athletic trainer. He oversees the medical coverage for women's soccer and men's volleyball.
Robinson, a native of Grand Island, New York, completed bachelor's degrees in Athletic Training and Kinesiology from the College at Brockport (SUNY). As an athletic training student he worked with nearly all of Brockport's athletic programs. Additionally he completed rotations at St. John Fisher College and Greece Athena High School. Upon earning his certification as an athletic trainer in June of 2016, he completed internships with USA Hockey and the Rochester Rattlers (MLL). He then obtained his master's degree in Exercise Science with a concentration in Athletic Training from the University of Toledo while serving as a graduate assistant athletic trainer at St. John's Jesuit High School & Academy.
After completing grad school in May 2018, Robinson joined the staff at the University of Denver as an intern athletic trainer for two years, providing medical coverage to women's soccer and assisting with men's and women's tennis.
