Daejah Bernard joined the Grand Canyon women's basketball staff in August 2022 as the Lopes' director of basketball operations and enters her second season as assistant coach in 2024-25.
Bernard joined GCU head coach Molly Miller's staff after playing for Miller when she coached at Drury. Bernard starred on those Drury teams for four seasons (2016-20), becoming an American Basketball Coaches Association All-American honorable mention when the team went 67-1. Her senior team was 32-0 and ranked first nationally in Division II, but the season was halted before the NCAA tournament by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Bernard holds Drury's single-season records for assists (211) and steals (137) and the career mark for assists (607), a total that broke the previous record by 133. The three-time Great Lakes Valley Conference also ranks third in Drury history for career steals with 402.
The St. Joseph, Missouri, native was selected to a All-Great Lakes Valley Conference team in each of her four seasons -- first team once, second team once and third team twice.
Bernard graduated from Drury in 2020 with a degree in Exercise Physiology after being honored multiple times on the Dean's List.
