Zounia claims MW Freshman of the Week

France native scored season-best 10 points vs. UNLV
Grand Canyon freshman Ines Zounia has garnered Mountain West Freshman of the Week honors after her season-best performance versus UNLV last week.
The conference honor is the second MW Freshman of the Week accolade for GCU this season, with Norah Moo also winning on Nov. 24.
Zounia came off the bench and sparked bigtime plays for the Lopes against the Lady Rebels, totaling 10 points, three rebounds, two assists, one block and one steal. The point total was a season high for the Lille, France, native.
Zounia connected from 3-point range twice, including a buzzer beater to end the third quarter. Her 10 points were the most by a Lope freshman in a game this season.
GCU will resume action Dec. 28 at San José State for a 3 p.m. (Phoenix time) tipoff on the Mountain West Network.
