Kylen Butler is in his second season as the director of recruiting for the GCU men's basketball program. He joined the staff in July 2021.
In his role, Butler will assist the staff in all aspects of the recruiting process.
In Butler's first season on staff, GCU was charged with replacing the Lopes' two leading scorers. Behind the development of Jovan Blacksher Jr. and the addition of Holland Woods II, the Lopes posted a 92 NET for the top mark in program history with a 23-8 mark in 2021-22. GCU's best win by metrics in its D-I program history came on Dec. 18 in the Colangelo Classic as GCU topped previously undefeated San Francisco.
Butler played collegiately at Wallace State Community College, Tusculum University and University of Indianapolis before transitioning into a coaching role.
Butler was a graduate assistant a UIndy for the 2018-19 season before moving on to a graduate manager role at Clemson. He briefly held the role of director of operations at Cal State Fullerton before accepting the position at GCU.
