Samuel Arcalas was named Grand Canyon's director of baseball operations in August 2019. In his role, he is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the baseball program including budgeting, equipment, travel and scheduling.
Arcalas rejoins the Lopes baseball program after serving as a student manager during his time as a GCU undergrad. He spent the last year working as a graduate assistant in the department's equipment office, working as liaison with the baseball program in addition to other GCU teams.
In 2017 and 2018, Arcalas was an operations student manager where he helped with the day-to-day behind-the-scenes work of the program. Arcalas’ duties included handling equipment, operations, travel scheduling and assisting the team’s director of baseball operations.
Arcalas graduated from Grand Canyon University in July 2018 with a degree in Finance and Economics. He is currently pursuing his MBA with an Emphasis in Project Management.
A native of Honolulu, Hawaii, Arcalas moved to California and graduated from Calvary Chapel High School where he played football and wrestled for the Grizzlies.
