Ryan Kramer joined the GCU baseball staff as pitching coach in 2026 after making an immediate impact on head coach Steve Bieser's staff at Jacksonville State.
Kramer arrived in Phoenix after directing one of the nation's top pitching staffs during his lone season at Jacksonville State. Despite joining the Gamecocks in December 2025, Kramer helped Jacksonville State finish the 2026 season ranked ninth nationally and first in Conference USA with a 3.91 ERA. The Gamecocks also ranked third nationally with seven shutouts, sixth in hits allowed per nine innings at 7.38, 16th in strikeouts per nine innings at 10.4 and 20th with a 1.32 WHIP.
Jacksonville State went 48-15 in 2026, won Conference USA regular-season and tournament championships, advanced to an NCAA Regional final and finished the season ranked No. 21 nationally. Under Kramer's direction, Steven Cash led Conference USA with a 3.01 ERA, ranked 30th nationally in hits allowed per nine innings and tied for the league lead with nine victories. Cash and Beau Bryans both ranked among the nation's top 130 in ERA, while Cash, Bryans and Eli Pillsbury all ranked among Conference USA's top seven in strikeouts per nine innings. Reliever Skyler Hutto ranked sixth nationally with 12 saves.
Before Jacksonville State, Kramer served as Campbell's director of player development, overseeing the Camels' athletic, academic and personal development while helping the pitching staff rank among the nation's top 50 with 9.3 strikeouts per nine innings. Campbell pitcher Jake Murray ranked 22nd nationally with 12.37 strikeouts per nine innings.
Kramer previously served as Millersville's pitching coach beginning with the 2021 season, helping the Marauders win three Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference East titles, the 2022 PSAC championship and the 2023 NCAA Atlantic Region championship. During his tenure, Millersville developed three All-America starting pitchers. In 2024, Alex Mykut ranked second nationally in Division II ERA. In 2023, Millersville set a program record for strikeouts and finished second nationally in hits allowed per nine innings, fourth in WHIP and fifth in ERA.
Before Millersville, Kramer spent five seasons at Dickinson as pitching coach, third-base coach and recruiting coordinator, helping produce three of the winningest seasons in program history and more all-conference pitchers than the program had developed throughout the remainder of its history.
Kramer also starred as a pitcher at Dickinson, earning four letters, two All-Centennial Conference selections and two captaincies. As a senior, he went 5-2 with a 1.61 ERA in 61 2/3 innings and set a school record by holding opponents to a .188 batting average. After graduating, Kramer continued his playing career at McGill, helping the program win a Canadian national championship by throwing a three-hit, complete-game shutout with 13 strikeouts in the national semifinals. He was named the tournament's Most Outstanding Pitcher and Canadian National Pitcher of the Year.
Kramer graduated from Dickinson in 2014 with a degree in psychology.
