BUzo Owuama began his collegiate career with a fifth-place finish at the season-opening Doubletree Open in 2014-15. On the season, he posted eight wins as the Lopes continued their transition to Division I.

Owuama earned a fifth-place finish in the California state meet for Bloomington High School. He also won the prestigious Doc Buchanan and Temecula Valley tournaments.
