Lopes lead rest of MW by two games heading in to third week of conference play

Grand Canyon heads to Tucson for a ranked matchup at Arizona Tuesday night, before hitting the road again for a series at Utah State over the weekend.

5 THINGS TO KNOW

GCU is unanimously ranked in the Top 25 across major softball polls. (23 in ESPN/USA Softball, 24 in Softball America, 17 in NFCA, & 21 in D1Softball.) They have the best record and winning percentage in the nation.
Grand Canyon lost their first game of the season in the first-ever ranked on ranked matchup at GCU Softball Stadium vs Oklahoma State.
Grand Canyon broke its single-game attendance record on 3/17 vs. Oklahoma State with 1,906 fans in attendance.
Graduate left fielder Trinity Martin went off in week seven of the season, hitting four home runs, driving in nine runs and scoring six times. Martin began the SJSU series 7/7 with 4 HR.
GCU has won 17 straight true road games dating back to last season.

SCOUTING ARIZONA

Oklahoma State is ranked at No. 13, coming off a series win over Arizona State at home. The Wildcats have ranked wins over Oklahoma, Stanford and Texas Tech this season.
The Wildcats are hitting .349 with a 4.60 ERA.
Grand Canyon has never beaten Arizona in 16 tries all-time.

SCOUTING UTAH STATE

GCU is 4-1 all-time against Utah State, winning the most recent matchup at home last season 10-2 in five innings.
The Aggies are hitting .274 with a team ERA of 6.51.
Utah State is coming off a home series loss against Nevada, moving them to 3-3 in conference play and 14-17 overall.

GCU swept San José State in the Lopes program's first home Mountain West series, moving GCU to 6-0 in conference play.
Freshman second baseman Raegan Holtorf earned a hit in each game of the series, extending her team-best hit streak to eight games.
