FRESNO, Calif. – Grand Canyon moved to 3-1 in Mountain West road games by holding Fresno State to 30% shooting, an opponent season low, in a 68-57 Saturday victory
In the Bulldogs' largest home loss of the season, GCU (13-6, 6-2 Mountain West) led for 37 1/2 minutes of the game but staved off challenges down the stretch with 29 second-half points combined from senior guard
Jaden Henley (15) and junior guard
Makaih Williams (14).
Key player

Henley posted his first career double-double with 23 points and 10 rebounds Saturday in front of 6,462 fans at Save Mart Center. Henley made 7 of 15 shots from the field and 9 of 11 free throws.
The Ontario, California, native logged 35 minutes with the Lopes going without graduate guard
Brian Moore Jr., who was out injured for Saturday's game.
Key moment
Just as Fresno State had taken its first lead in the second half, Henley took over the GCU offense by scoring 12 consecutive Lopes points. With the Bulldogs playing more help defense on him, Henley drove and kicked to Williams for a go-ahead 3-pointer with 6:18 to go. The Lopes never trailed again with junior guard
Dusty Stromer adding a 3 after that.
Key statistic
GCU grabbed 17 offensive rebounds, its second-highest total of the season. The Lopes outscored the Bulldogs 21-4 in second-chance points.
Quotable
GCU head coach
Bryce Drew: "He (Henley) did a really good job, and he closed that game. He was spectacular, him and Makaih. I thought they made really good decisions the last five minutes. They were strong with the ball. Obviously, Jaden's finishes were just sensational around the rim. I thought Makaih made a huge play, the and-one out of a timeout. That was a huge play because they were on a run."
What's next?
The Lopes return to Phoenix for practices before going back on the road for a Tuesday night game at Nevada, which lost Saturday at New Mexico to go to 6-3 in conference play.
