GCU and San Diego State meet for first time ever
GCU hosts San Diego State on Thursday evening and Air Force for a Sunday night match at GCU Stadium this week.
AT A GLANCE
- Head Coach Chris Cissell earned his 65th all-time win at GCU with the win over NAU, passing Stevie Gill (08-15). He is 1 win away from 450 career collegiate wins in both men's and women's soccer.
- Sophomore forward, Ellie Johannes, won Mountain West Offensive Player of the Week for week 6 after her game-winning goal at Northern Arizona. She has scored in back-to-back matches.
- Johannes and freshman Caprice Chiuchiolo both scored their first goals with GCU in the match at Arizona. It was the Chiuchiolo's first collegiate score.
- Senior Hannah Smith and junior Madison Hamm lead the team in assists with two apiece. Smith has assisted both of Johannes's goals, while Hamm has assisted two game-winning goals.
