Stetson guard Fontaine signs with Lopes

Massachusetts native spent past 2 seasons with Hatters
Grand Canyon head coach Winston Gandy added guard depth to his spring signing class with the addition of Stetson transfer Sophia Fontaine.
A native of Boston, Fontaine joins GCU as a redshirt sophomore with three years of eligibility remaining. The 6-2 forward spent her past two seasons at Stetson, where she played 13 games in her 2023-24 freshman season before an injury sidelined her for the 2024-25 season.
Fontaine averaged 2.7 points and 1.2 rebounds per game while shooting 60% from the floor during her freshman season. Prior to Stetson, she attended Proctor Academy in New Hampshire and Putnam Science Academy in Connecticut.
Fontaine is the fifth portal transfer signee over the past month for Gandy and the Lopes, joined by:
