Grand Canyon added its second consecutive 6-foot-4 forward in Faith Carson, an Ohio State transfer and former Michigan high school standout.
From Buchanan, Michigan, Carson enters GCU with three seasons of eligibility remaining after redshirting last season at Ohio State. In her freshman season of 2023-24, Carson appeared in seven games, averaging 0.6 points and 1.1 rebounds.
Carson graduated from Buchanan (Michigan) High School, ranking first in the state via Prep Girl Hoops. She earned multiple all-conference and all-state honors and was named 2023 Associated Press Division III Girls Basketball Player of the Year after leading Buchanan to its first regional title in 20 years.
Her senior season's performance also earned Carson the 2023 Prep Girls Hoops Michigan Player of the Year award for averaging 20.5 points, 12.5 rebounds and 5.8 blocks per game.
Carson adds to the list of signees for new GCU head coach Winston Gandy this spring, joining transfers Julianna LaMendola (Indiana), Holly Griffiths (Fresno State) and Chloe Mann (Cincinnati).Â
