The 13th-ranked Grand Canyon beach volleyball team is on the road Friday and Saturday to compete in four dual matches at the Fight in the Fort, hosted by TCU in Fort Worth, Texas.
On Friday, the Lopes will face Missouri State at 6 a.m. (Phoenix time) and Louisiana-Monroe at 10 a.m. before Saturday matches against Houston Christian at 6 a.m. and No. 2 TCU at 10 a.m.
Scouting Missouri State
- The Lopes are 2-0 against Missouri State with sweeps in 2022 and 2019.
- Missouri State has not played a ranked team this season.
Scouting Louisiana-Monroe
- The Warhawks are 12-17 this season and 0-5 against ranked teams.
- The two programs have met twice with GCU winning 5-0 in 2019 and 4-1 in 2016.
Scouting Houston Christian
- Houston Christian has a record of 8-9, coming off matches with USC, TCU, FAU and Stetson.
- The Lopes defeated Houston Christian 4-1 this season in San Louis Obisbo, California.
Scouting TCU
- Host TCU is 21-5 and ranked No. 2 nationally.
- GCU is 5-3 all-time against TCU and split the two most recent matches in 2023.
- The match will also mark the first time former Lopes player Allanis Navas competes against GCU.

Following the four matches in Fort Worth, Texas, GCU will look ahead to the first-ever MPSF Championships in Huntington Beach, California, from April 23-25.
