WAC's top teams battle in Phoenix

	GRAND CANYON LOPES (30-6, 9-2 WAC)	vs.	SEATTLE U REDHAWKS (23-14, 8-4 WAC)

Grand Canyon and Seattle U face off in a WAC series that gives the Lopes an opportunity to extend their lead on the rest of the conference. A Saturday sellout is expected for Faith & Family Day.

GCU spphomore second baseman Savannah Kirk ranks third in the country in hits (64), second in batting average (.520) and fifth in stolen bases (33).
Lopes senior pitcher Meghan Golden has started the season on fire. She ranks third in the nation in ERA (0.75) and 11th in the nation in WHIP (0.86). Golden is 9-0 in the circle this year. The Lopes pitching staff holds the second-best ERA in the country.
The Lopes are receiving votes in the ESPN/USA Softball poll (28th overall, 14 votes) and the NFCA Coaches Poll (27th overall, 33 votes). D1Softball ranked GCU as the fourth-best mid-major in the country in this week's poll.

SCOUTING SEATTLE U

This will be the 40th-42nd matchups between GCU and Seattle U, with the all-time record in favor of the Lopes at 25-14. Grand Canyon won the last meeting, 3-2, in the 2024 WAC Tournament quarterfinals, which took place at Seattle U.
The Redawks are 23-14 on the season with an 8-4 conference record. Seattle U took one of three games in their home series with California Baptist last weekend. Just a week before, the Lopes swept CBU in Riverside.
Seattle U is hitting .306 with a team ERA of 3.14.
Redhawks infielder Taylor Fitch has led the power surge with nine home runs and 36 RBIs this season.

LAST TIME OUT

vs Southern Utah

The Lopes swept Southern Utah over the past weekend, extending their winning streak to seven games.
GCU received two dominant pitching performances in the Friday doubleheader, including a Golden complete game shutout in Game 2.
Grand Canyon won Game 3 on Saturday in five innings, winning 13-4 behind 13 singles.

WHAT'S NEXT?

GCU pays a visit to Arizona State on Tuesday night for a rematch from when the Lopes won 3-0 at home over the Sun Devils in February.
