The 13th-ranked Grand Canyon beach volleyball team is at home Friday and Saturday to compete in three dual matches in Phoenix for the final time this season.
On Friday, the Lopes will face UTEP at 2:00 p.m. with the senior day ceremony happening prior. GCU will then face South Carolina in a 6 p.m. night match. Saturday morning will feature one GCU match against UAB at 10 a.m.
Scouting UTEP
- The Miners are 9-8 this season.
- The Lopes hold a 2-0 lead in teh all-time series.
Scouting South Carolina
- The Gamecocks are currently 8-5 with three of the losses coming against ranked squads.
- GCU has won three of the last four meetings with an all-time record of 4-3.
Scouting UAB
- UAB is coming off a tournament in which they defeated No. 20 Georgia State and Tampa, and had losses against Florida Gulf Coast and Florida Atlantic. UAB also beat Tulane earlier in the season is looking to enter the Top 20 for the first time in program history.
- The Lopes are 5-0 against the Blazers dating back to 2017.
What's next?
Following the three matches at home, GCU will head to Honolulu to face Hawaii and Cal twice with potential implications on the MPSF Championships' seeding. The matches will take place on April 12th and 13th.
