The WAC regular-season and WAC Tournament champions are headed to Waco, Texas.
For the first time in program history, Grand Canyon will play in the NCAA Division I tournament, earning a No. 13 seed to face No. 4 seed Baylor on Friday at 12:30 p.m. (Phoenix time)Â at the Bears' Foster Pavilion.
With the country's best record and the nation's longest active winning streak at 30 games, GCU will face Baylor for the first time in program history. The Big 12 opponent will be the Lopes' third from the conference this season after GCU defeated Arizona and Arizona State.
Baylor (27-7, 15-3 Big 12) is 4-1 against common opponents, with wins over Arizona, Arizona State, East Texas A&M and Utah Tech, and a loss at Oregon. One of GCU's only two losses this season also came at Oregon in the fourth game of the season. The Bears earned a trip to the Big 12 title game on March 9, narrowly losing to nationally ranked TCU after defeating Oklahoma State and Iowa State.
GCU is one of six teams to have its name called on Selection Sunday for the first time in program history, joining Arkansas State, Fairleigh Dickinson, George Mason, UC San Diego and William & Mary.
No. 5 Ole Miss will play No. 12 Ball State in Waco, where the winner will play the GCU-Baylor winner on Sunday.

GCU enters Friday second in the country in field goal percentage (49.3%), sixth in 3-point percentage (38.1%), sixth in steals per game (13.0) and 10th in turnovers forced per game (22.3). Baylor ranks as one of the best rebounding teams in the nation, averaging 41 per contest (20th in nation) while dishing out 18.5 assists, ninth most in the country.
