The 18th-ranked Grand Canyon beach volleyball team is on the road Friday and Saturday to compete in four dual matches in Tucson.
On Friday at Bear Down Beach, the Lopes will face No. 20 Stetson at 10 a.m. (Phoenix time) and host Arizona at 2 p.m. before Saturday matches them against Boise State at 10 a.m. and No. 11 Arizona State at noon. This will mark the first road matches of the season for the Lopes (4-0) along with their first matches against ranked opponents. On its opening weekend, GCU swept the highest-vote receiving squad of Arizona.

- The Cactus Classic marks the first matches of the season for the Broncos, who finished last season at 31-12.Â
- The Lopes are 4-0 against Boise State, but they have only met in Phoenix previously.Â
Scouting Arizona State
- The Sun Devils are 1-5 after facing six top-12 opponents in the Outrigger Duke Kahanamoku Classic.Â
- GCU is 6-2 all-time against ASU with the Sun Devils winning last season's match.Â
Where is Bear Down Beach?
Located at the corner of Enke Drive and Campbell Avenue at Jimenez Field, Bear Down Beach is centrally located on Arizona's campus adjacent to McKale Center and south of Hillenbrand Aquatic Center. Admission is free, and fans are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and/or blankets.Â
What's next?
Following the four matches in Tucson, the Lopes will head to Stanford, California, for a midseason conference tournament on March 7-8.
