Grand Canyon plays its first game at Global Credit Union Arena this season against Idaho State on Saturday night. The home game is the first for
Winston Gandy as GCU head coach, with tipoff set for 6 p.m. on Arizona's Family Sports and Mountain West Network.

- The Lopes boast a 19-game winning streak at home, dating back to the start of last season. GCU's last home loss was March 9, 2024, in overtime versus California Baptist.
- Graduate guard Ale'jah Douglas poured in a career-high 16 points against No. 2 South Carolina on Saturday, knocking down three 3-pointers and adding three rebounds. The Lopes made seven 3s against the Gamecocks, with Douglas and sophomore guard Chloe Mann combining for six of them.
- Fourteen Lopes made an appearance against South Carolina, including senior guard Anisa Jeffries, who scored 11 points and added a team-high five rebounds. Jeffries shot a team best 50% from the floor.
- GCU made the most of its opportunities at the free throw line, converting 13 of 17 attempts for a 76.5% clip. Douglas, Mann, and Jeffries combined for 10 made from the charity stripe.
- The Lopes' 2025-26 nonconference schedule is the toughest in program history, with an average opponent NET of 120 (based on 2024-25), 109 spots higher than the average NET over the last five seasons combined. The Lopes will travel to South Carolina, Oregon and Gonzaga, and face California and UTSA during Thanksgiving week in Frisco, Texas.
- GCU announced an expansive TV partnership with Arizona's Family in August to become the Official Home of GCU Athletics. Seventeen sports across campus will be broadcast on multiple outlets across the Valley, the only Division I university in the state to have an exclusive partnership with broadcast rights across the state of Arizona.
THIS GAME
- GCU will play in Phoenix for the first time under first-year head coach Winston Gandy and will host Big Sky opponent Idaho State at 6 p.m. Saturday.
- The new-look Lopes will also have a new broadcast look Saturday with the debut of GCU women's basketball on Arizona's Family. The game will be streamed on Arizona's Family Sports and the Mountain West Network.
- The home game is one of two in November. GCU plays six games on the road or at a neutral site this month, hosting SMU next on Nov. 18.
SCOUTING IDAHO STATE
- The Bengals took care of business in their season opener at home Tuesday defeating Westminster (Utah) 99-47 at Reed Gym.
- Tasia Jordan led all scorers with 26 points on 11-of-13 shooting. Piper Carlson had a 13-point, 11-rebound game while Aspen Caldwell dished out five assists and added eight boards.
- The Bengals shot 62.5% from 3-point range, making 10 of 16. They also attempted 30 free throws, including 22 in the second half and making 19 for the game.
- It won the turnover battle 21-5, the five turnovers from Idaho State being tied for second lowest in the nation through one game.
- This is the second matchup in program history against the Bengals, with the first coming in January of 2021.
