Grand Canyon heads to Frisco, Texas, for the Hoopfest Women's Basketball Challenge at Comerica Center. The Lopes will face ACC opponent California Monday night and conclude against American conference's UTSA Wednesday afternoon. Both games will be streamed on FloCollege *subscription required.Â

- Coming off its first victory of the season, GCU heads to Frisco, Texas, for the Hoopfest Women's Basketball Challenge at the Comerica Center.Â
- GCU's first win of 2025-26 campaign came against ACC opponent SMU, the first ACC opponent since California in 2018. The Lopes pulled down 54 rebounds, the most in a game since Feb. 17, 2022. Freshman Norah Moo led the charge with 11 boards while adding eight points to her night.Â
- The 54 rebounds are the second most by any Mountain West team this season.
- Graduate Ale'jah Douglas has been lights out from beyond the arc, ranking 14th in the nation in three point percentage (55.6%). She is 10 of 18 from deep and has three games with multiple made 3's this season. Douglas is averaging 11.6 points per game, second best on the team.
- Sophomore Chloe Mann leads the squad in scoring (12.6 ppg) and is coming off a 15 point, four rebound showing vs. the Mustangs. Mann owns an 88% mark from the free throw line, making 22 of 25 attempts.Â
- GCU is shooting 72% from the charity stripe, fourth best in the Mountain West. The Lopes have made double digit free throws in every game this season and have made 42 over its past three games.Â
- The Lopes have pulled down 59 offensive boards, 32% of its total rebounding output. Moo and graduate Favor Ayodele each have 10 O-boards this season.Â
THIS WEEK
- After nearly a week between games, GCU plays two in a three day stretch beginning Monday evening in Frisco.Â
- GCU is one of nine teams competing in Frisco, joining Auburn, California, Old Dominion, Oreogn, Saint Mary's, Texas Tech, North Texas, and UTSA.Â
- Both meetings against Cal and UTSA are the second in program history. GCU's matchup against the Golden Bears is the second straight against an ACC school, winning the first last Tuesday at home over SMU.Â
SCOUTING CALIFORNIA
- Cal enters Frisco 5-1 overall and winners of five straight.Â
- The Golden Bears opened the season in Paris, France, facing Vanderbilt for its only game away from Berkeley so far this season.Â
- Four Golden Bears are in double figures, led by Lulu Twidale with 14.2 points per game. Twidale is also averaging 4.6 boards and is second on the team in assists with 15.Â
- Cal is 60th in the nation in assists, dishing out 100 compared to its opponents 67. Puff Morris has 30 in five games played.Â
- Cal will play both GCU and Auburn in the Hoopfest Challenge. Â Â
SCOUTING UTSA
- UTSA stays in state and heads over to Frisco for the Hoopfest Women's Basketball Challenge, owning a 2-2 overall record.Â
- The Roadrunners are 1-0 at home and 1-2 on the road. It has won each of its last two, both being in the city of San Antonio as its last game was as Incarnate Word.Â
- UTSA will play Auburn then GCU in the Challenge.Â
- Cheyenne Rowe leads the team with 12.3 points per game, shooting a team-high 54.1% from the floor.Â
- Idara Udo is nearly averaging a double-double, putting up 11.5 points and 9.5 rebounds per contest. Â
