Ranking top 20 nationally in two goalkeeper categories, graduate
Daniel Ibarra's efforts in Grand Canyon's tie against San José State earned him WAC Co-Goalkeeper of the Week.
Ibarra owns a 6-3-2 record this season with three shutouts and 41 saves. His save count ranks fourth in the WAC, while his .854 save percentage is eighth in the country. He owns a 0.67 goals against average, good for 20th in the nation.
From Monterrey, Mexico, Ibarra has five games with four or more saves this season and has totaled eight saves over his last two games.
Ibarra earned the award alongside UNLV's Hugo Lemos.
Ibarra and the Lopes will play in a battle of first-place teams Thursday at home, facing Utah Tech at 4 p.m. in GCU Stadium. The Lopes and Trailblazers each have seven WAC standing points to tie with California Baptist and San Diego State for the top spot with three matches remaining.
