GCU Ballpark to host MLB Arizona Fall League game

Brazell Field at GCU Ballpark will play host to an Oct. 25 game of MLB's Arizona Fall League, combining the on-campus experience of GCU with the elite professional prospects of the Arizona Fall League.

The Mesa Solar Sox and Peoria Javelinas will match up for a 6:30 p.m. first pitch. Tickets are on sale for just $5 at GCULopes.com/Tickets. GCU students can also claim a ticket for free admission.

The Arizona Fall League presents an additional opportunity for MLB's top prospects to develop. Six of the MLB's top 50 prospects are featured on the rosters of the two teams playing at GCU Ballpark. Notables who once played in the league include all-stars Mike Trout, Aaron Judge, Ronald Acuna Jr. and Hall of Fame members Derek Jeter, Mike Piazza and Todd Helton.

vince reilly action The roster of the Mesa Solar Sox includes former Lopes closer Vince Reilly, a 2022 GCU alumnus and Chicago Cubs minor leaguer.

The game coming to GCU's campus continues a strong partnership between the university and Major League Baseball. The Lopes have been a part of the MLB Desert Invitational, a premier college baseball tournament hosted in the Phoenix area on opening weekend. GCU is set to participate in the MLB Desert Invitational for a third consecutive season in February 2025. The Lopes have played in neutral-site spring training venues and hosted home games against Tennessee and Georgetown as a part of the tournament.

Gates open at 5:30 p.m. for the 6:30 p.m. first pitch. As with all GCU Athletics events, on-campus parking in close proximity to the ballpark is free.
