Arizona gets most WAC championship sites in 6 years

Men's soccer tournament returns to GCU; baseball, golf locales stay in state
Arizona will host its most WAC sports championships in six years with postseason conference titles being settled at Grand Canyon and in Litchifield Park, Mesa and Payson.
The WAC announced its 2024-25 championship venues Wednesday, including the return of the WAC Tournament for men's soccer to GCU. The event will be played at GCU Stadium on Nov. 10-16 for the first time since 2021.
Three other conference titles will be settled in Arizona. The men's golf WAC Championship will remain at The Golf Club at Chaparral Pines, where the Lopes will go for a three-peat on April 25-27. The women's golf WAC Championship stays in Arizona but will change locales from Payson to Litchfield Park, where it will be played at Wigwam Golf Club on April 14-16.
Baseball's WAC Tournament also will stay put. The tourney will wrap up the WAC postseason calendar on May 21-14 at Hohokam Stadium in Mesa, where the tournament has been held at the Oakland Athletics' spring training facility since 2014.
Arizona has not hosted this many WAC championships (four) since 2017-18, when five sports' titles were settled in the state.
For GCU's final year as a WAC member before moving to the West Coast Conference for 2025-26, the conference championships will be held in California (one sport), Nevada (two sports), Texas (eight sports), Utah (two sports) and Washington (two sports).
