Recent Grand Canyon graduate
Olivia Lane signed a professional contract with Luxembourg club BBC les Sangliers Wooltz and will join the team for the upcoming season.
BBC les Sangliers Wooltz plays in the Luxembourg Basketball League and finished 8-8 in the regular season in 2023-24. The season runs from September to March.
Lane will add height and rebounding prowess to a team that had an average height of 5 feet 7 last season. The 6-foot-2 forward averaged 9.2 points and a GCU-best 6.2 rebounds per game last season, including a WAC-leading 106 offensive boards. Lane finished one rebound shy of 200 last season and added 26 steals and nine blocks while shooting 50% from the floor and a team-best 79% from the free throw line.
A native of Pequot Lakes, Minnesota, Lane spent her first three collegiate seasons at North Dakota. She arrived in Phoenix prior to the 2022-23 season and finished her GCU career averaging 10.2 points and 5.7 rebounds, helping the Lopes to a 45-18 record in her two Lopes seasons.
For her career, Lane recorded averages of 9.5 points, 6.1 rebounds and 0.6 steals per game and had over 100 rebounds in four of her five seasons. She reached a milestone with her 1,000th point at Tarleton State on Jan. 13.
