SEATTLE – The bracket and the GCU softball team are set for this week's WAC Tournament, which awarded the Lopes two rounds of byes to Thursday's quarterfinals in their quest for a tourney championship repeat.

GCU traveled to the WAC Tournament, hosted by Seattle U, with hopes of claiming a third consecutive title and third consecutive NCAA tournament berth.
The Lopes (45-11, 23-3 WAC) will play the host Redhawks (23-30, 14-12) on Thursday at 1 p.m. (Phoenix time) after fourth-seeded Seattle U advanced with a 4-3 victory Wednesday night to oust Southern Utah. GCU won two of three games at Seattle U's Logan Field in March with the loss snapping the Lopes' 10-game winning streak in the series.
GCUÂ earned the tournament's No. 1 seed by sweeping six of their nine conference opponents and winning all nine of their three-game series this season. The Lopes posted the best conference winning percentage (.885) since 2016 (New Mexico State, .933, 14-1) and won the most WAC games since 1999 (Fresno State 24-0).
The winner's bracket semifinal will be played at 1 p.m. Friday with the championship round taking place Saturday. The unbeaten winner's bracket team will have a chance to take the title at 1 p.m. If the loser's bracket team wins that game, the teams will play for the championship trophy and an NCAA tournament berth at 4 p.m. Saturday.
All games will be broadcast on ESPN+.
