For anyone already missing
Gabe McGlothan donning a Grand Canyon uniform in Global Credit Union Arena, the farewell tour has one last home stop to jam Thursday night in the nationally televised State Farm College Slam Dunk & 3-Point Championships before he moves to State Farm Stadium for a Friday all-star game.

McGlothan's collegiate career ended with GCU's 30-5 season and NCAA tournament second-round visit on March 24, but the 6-foot-7, 235-pounder's mix of power and pizzazz will be reunited with the Havocs for 6 p.m. show on ESPN.
"It's another opportunity to play at home," McGlothan said. "I'm super-excited to try to put a show for them one more time and see where we can take it."
As the college basketball world's attention descends on the Valley, the 35th annual competition will tip off the hoop festivities after the College Slam Dunk & 3-Point Championships also was held at GCU in 2017. Then, Lopes guard DeWayne Russell reached the 3-point finals.
On the slam side, McGlothan will follow former GCU teammate Sean Miller-Moore's 2022 dunk contest participation that featured a perfect score and narrowly missing the finals in New Orleans. He is one of 24 men's and women's participants vying for a dunk crown and men's and women's 3-point titles. The 3-point champions also will face off in a "Battle of the Champions."
Despite a reputation for dunks, this will be McGlothan's first dunk contest. His repertoire should look familiar to those who have seen his slew of slams in home pregame routines. He has been working on this bag of tricks for most of his life.
"Dun

king was for me when I was younger, and I tried new things," McGlothan said. "Now, there's a new level I can take it. I'm sticking to what I know. Some of my dunks are already crazy enough."
On Friday, McGlothan will play in the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Reese's Division I All-Star Game at State Farm Stadium. The 3:30 p.m. game has free admission and will be broadcast live on CBS Sports Network. As McGlothan explores a professional career, a fourth consecutive game on national television can help following the WAC Tournament championship and two NCAA tournament games.
"I'm just getting my name out there," McGlothan said. "It's another opportunity to be shown and elevate my stock."
McGlothan will be on the West All-Stars team, coached by San Diego's Steve Lavin, with another Valley native, New Mexico guard Jalen House, the best friend of GCU teammate
Jovan Blacksher Jr.
McGlothan earned first-team honors for All-WAC and NABC District 6 this season, when he matched his career high for scoring at 12.8 points per game, added 7.3 rebounds per game and set career highs with 1.3 steals per game, 0.9 blocked shots per game and 40% 3-point shooting. He ended the season as one of 15 active Division I players with at least 1,500 career points and 1,000 career rebounds.
The Basha High School graduate from Gilbert, Arizona, recorded six double-doubles this season to bring his career tally to 22. That included a 26-point, 11-rebound performance in the Jerry Colangelo Classic against Portland in December. He set his second scoring high with 28 points at Seattle U and grabbed a season-high 14 rebounds against Northern Arizona.
