The 17th-ranked Grand Canyon beach volleyball team is in Long Beach, California, on Wednesday and Manhattan Beach, California, on Friday to compete in four top-20 matchups. The Lopes face off against host Long Beach State (9:30 a.m. Phoenix time) and Georgia State (12 p.m.) on Wednesday and then play UCLA (9 a.m.) and Loyola Marymount (1:30 p.m.) on Friday.
Scouting No. 7 Long Beach State
- Long Beach holds an 8-2 record this season, with their last two wins coming against Loyola Marymount and FIU.
- Ranked No.7, started the season ranked No.10.
- The Lopes are 6-4 against all-time with the last five resulting in wins for GCU.
Scouting No. 15 Georgia State
- The Panthers are 8-3 with four wins coming against ranked squads.Â
- The Lopes have faced GSU five times, with a 4-1 record all-time.
Scouting No. 2 UCLA
- The national runner-up Bruins have started the season 11-4 with losses only coming from USC, Stanford (twice), and LM.
- The Lopes last faced the Bruins in last year's Battle for LA, when UCLA won 5-0.
Scouting No. 10 Loyola Marymount
- The Lions are 7-6 with 11 of 13 of the matches coming against ranked squads.Â
- The Lopes have only played LMU twice before, a 2023 matchup that LMU won 4-1 along with an LMU 4-1 victory earlier this season at the Battle for LA Invitational.

This is the second of four road trips, giving the Lopes an opportunity for recognition against some of the nation's best teams. GCU will face six ranked opponents out of the next seven opponents.
