Tyler Wilson was named the WAC Hitter of the Week for his efforts in the Lopes' WAC-opening sweep at Stephen F. Austin.
Wilson was 6 for 12 (.500) with two homers, two doubles and five RBIs.
Wilson has been a consistent threat with the bat over his four-year Lopes career. Despite hitting over .300 in his first three college seasons, Wilson won the WAC Hitter of the Week award for the first time in his career.
The Lopes senior opened the weekend with a three-hit game on Friday night with two doubles, a homer and a walk.
Wilson awakened GCU's offense on Sunday with a fourth-inning homer to run his total to five on the season.
GCU returns home to host Tarleton State in a three-game series beginning on Friday night.
