Grand Canyon used a 65-point bench effort Saturday night to blow out Life Pacific 100-52 and Lopes head coach
Bryce Drew's 100th win with GCU.
The Lopes (6-2) collected their fourth consecutive victory, starting with a 22-0 first-half run that included 19 points from GCU reserves at Global Credit Union Arena. The Lopes held a 58-25 halftime lead, their second-largest advantage at halftime of GCU's Division I era.
Key player

GCU sophomore guard
Caleb Shaw set a career scoring high with 22 points and tied his career rebounding high with seven boards. Shaw scored 17 of his points in the second half, sparking the 22-0 run with a 3-pointer. He made all three of his 3-point attempts in the first half.
Key moment
The Lopes never trailed, but the starters could not pull away from the Warriors. The reserves charged a 22-0 run with five GCU bench players scoring, led by Shaw getting 10 of the 22.
Key statistic
GCU went the first 30 minutes of play without a turnover, committing its first turnover with 9:47 remaining in the game. The Lopes finished with only five turnovers to Life Pacific's 19.
Quotable
GCU head coach
Bryce Drew: "I thought our bench was fantastic. They came in the first half and played with a lot of energy. They played with pace. They moved the ball. It was really fun to watch that group. In the second half, our upperclassmen picked it up and played much better. I'm really proud of
JaKobe Coles. I thought his defensive intensity was probably the best it's been all year, and obviously I loved the last play when Jason (Amador) got to get our 100th point. It was a special moment for him and our fans.."
What's next?
The Lopes hit the road for their most difficult road trip of the season, playing Georgia (8-1) on Saturday in Atlanta and Louisiana Tech (7-2) on Monday in Ruston, Louisiana.
