The Grand Canyon swimming and diving team will take on Arizona Christian and Ottawa (Arizona)Â in the last meet heading into the winter break Saturday.

Coming off the Midseason Invitational at Purdue, senior
Maria Brunlehner posted a conference-leading time of 1:59.26, also meeting the NCAA B Cut standard. She also went 49.54 in the 100 freestyle, securing the second-fastest time in the WAC. Brunlehner dominated the 100 breaststroke with a 1:02.05, marking the top time in the conference. In addition to her individual successes, she contributed to GCU's 400 medley relay team, which finished in 3:40.59, setting a new conference best by nearly three seconds.
Alex Volkov went 45.93 seconds in the 100 backstroke along with 20.20 in the 50-yard freestyle, 1:26.12 in the 200-yard medley relay, 3:08.89 in the 400 medley relay, 1:18.79 in the 200 freestyle relay, 1:45.15 in the 200 backstroke, and 2:54.76 in the 400 freestyle relay. Volkov, a junior, helped lead the Lopes men to a first place Midseason finish.Â

The Lopes men and women were victorious against Ottawa and Arizona Christian. The meet will begin Saturday at 1 p.m. at Fr Edward A. Reese Aquatic Center.
