The Grand Canyon swimming and diving teams hosts Air Force on Friday and Saturday in Phoenix after posting victories against Arizona Christian, Ottawa (Ariz.) and Simon Fraser (B.C.). The action begins at 3 p.m. Friday with Saturday starting at noon at Fr. Edward A. Reese Aquatic Center.
3 THINGS TO KNOW
- GCU freshman Batu Servi earned first-place finishes last weekend in the 500-yard freestyle (4 minutes, 30.16 seconds) and 1,000 freestyle (9:29.23) and a second-place showing in the 200 freestyle (1:40.93).
- Lopes senior Maria Brunlehner won the 100 freestyle (51.02), 200 individual medley (2:05.74) and 100 breaststroke (1:04.15) last weekend.
- Heading into this weekend, the Lopes "A" relays each have entry times that are faster than the current pool records.
SCOUTING
GCU traveled to Air Force last season, when the men and women lost ahead of WAC Championships, where the Lopes men finished 187 points ahead of Air Force to place second in the conference.Â

GCU will taper next week before heading to the Purdue Invitational for the Nov. 21-23 midseason meet in West Lafayette, Indiana.Â
