The Grand Canyon cross country team is set for its final meet of the season before the WAC Championships. The Lopes will compete at the Bronco Invitational, hosted by Santa Clara, in Sunnyvale, California, on Saturday morning.
It is the fourth and final regular-season meet of the season for GCU, which is coming off a three-week break from competition after last running at the Dave Murray Invitational in Tucson to end September. In that meet, a pair of newcomers led the Lopes for first-year head coach
Shayla Houlihan in sophomore
Ethan Smith and seniorÂ
Shoshanah Stukas.
Held at Baylands Regional Park, the men's 8,000-meter run will start at 8:45 a.m. with the women's 6,000-meter run to follow at 9:30 a.m. The park is located at the south edge of the San Francisco Bay.

here. The Lopes will be represented by the following eight women's runners and 10 men's runners in the meet:
- GCU women's lineup: Selah Akers, Hana Hall, Taylor Hansen, Niki Hemmerlin, Eva Johnson, Madelyn Palmer, Shoshanah Stukas, Adria Wuerth.
- GCU men's lineup: Greyson Akers, Emmanuel Corral, Tristen Coyle, Spencer Desmond, Mac Eliason, Matt Hamilton, Alex Rafferty, Alex Saldamando, Jack Sindt, Ethan Smith.
The Lopes will face a large event field with about 20 programs represented, including fellow WAC competitors Seattle U and Utah Tech.
The WAC Championships are on the horizon, set for Friday, Nov. 1, in Orem, Utah.
