OREM, Utah – The Grand Canyon women's basketball team won its seventh consecutive game to remain perfect in WAC play by ending a stretch of three consecutive road games with its third-highest scoring total of the season Thursday night.
The Lopes (15-3, 7-0 WAC) never trailed against the Wolverines to win 78-68 for their seventh road victory in eight tries this season. GCU entered the contest with its best start in its Division I era at 14-3 and improved that with its longest winning streak in head coach

Junior guard
Trinity San Antonio led GCU with 14 points in her return to action after missing the previous four games because of injury. Senior guard
Anna Ostlie contributed to the Lopes' nine 3-pointers by sinking three of them on her 13-point night.
GCU graduate point guard
Jada Holland, who was a freshman on the last Lopes team to win seven consecutive games, had a near double-double with 11 points and eight assists. She set the tone with seven points and three assists in the GCU's 30-point first quarter.
Holland's eight assists continued a streak of five games with five or more assists. Senior forward
Olivia Lane also had a near double-double performance with 10 points and eight rebounds.

Shay Fano, who returned to Orem for the first time since playing three seasons at Utah Valley, scored 11 points and added eight rebounds, two blocks and two steals in 21 minutes.

GCU scored 30 points in the first quarter over Utah Valley (6-10, 1-6 WAC), which countered with 23. The Wolverines closed the Lopes lead to 42-39 at halftime. GCU led by as many as 15 points in the second half as offense emerged for a 23-point third quarter.
The 68 points from Utah Valley were the second most of any opponent this season and made UVU only the third team to score 65 or more points on GCU this season.
The Lopes shot 49% from the field, marking the seventh consecutive game shooting 45% or better. They made nine 3-pointers for GCU's fifth game of nine or more 3s. The Lopes have made 18 3-pointers in the past two games and totaled 23 during the three-game road trip.
GCU returns home for the first time since Jan. 6 and hosts Seattle U on Saturday. Tipoff is set for 2 p.m. on ESPN+.
