Lopes win 12th consecutive game to be 15-1 overall

Grand Canyon extended the nation's third-longest winning streak to 12 games by toppling Abilene Christian 74-64 in a Thursday night WAC game at Global Credit Union Arena.

Key player

GCU graduate power forward Gabe McGlothan tallied 13 points and eight rebounds while tallying a career-high five assists in 29 minutes. He made 7 of 8 free throws.

Key moment

The Lopes opened the second half with seven unanswered points of highlight plays, including a spinning scoop by junior guard Collin Moore, a three-point fastbreak play by senior guard Tyon Grant-Foster and a McGlothan slam dunk off Moore's assist. Moore also blocked a shot when GCU opened the second half five consecutive stops.

Key statistic

GCU shot 54% from the field and 92% from the free throw line in a second half with only five turnovers. The Lopes outscored the Wildcats 41-32.

Lopes head coach Bryce Drew on McGlothan: "He's in such a good rhythm right now. he's not forcing shots. His ball-handling has improved, and he's so confidence in getting to his spots."
