The Grand Canyon men's volleyball released its 2024 schedule with a nationwide scope and 11 opponents that finished last season in the top 25 of NCAA Rating Percentage Index (RPI).

Coming off the program's first appearance in the NCAA tournament last season, ninth-year head coach
Matt Werle and his Lopes will face a quality schedule that features matches from Hawaii to Massachusetts along with Mountain Pacific Sports Federation competition.

After its winningest season at 22-8, GCU will open up a new season Jan. 4-6 at the Asics Invitational in Santa Barbara, California, where the Lopes will play matches against CSU Northridge, UC San Diego and host UC Santa Barbara.

GCU will return to Global Credit Union Arena for the home opener against Lindenwood on Jan. 12 and a second match on Jan. 14. It will be the first of 11 Lopes opponents that ranked in the top 25 of last season's final RPI rankings.

January will turn to February with the Lopes traveling to the East Coast for a match against Merrimack on Jan. 31, along with a pair of matches in the Harvard Invitational against the host Crimson and Daeman, which had a program-record 17 wins last season at the Division II level.

In March, the Lopes will compete in their third and final multiteam event when they travel to Honolulu and compete in the Outrigger Volleyball Invitational. The Lopes will face UC Irvine, Lewis and host Hawaii from March 7-10 in their first matches on Oahu since 2020.

The 12-match MPSF conference schedule for GCU will begin at BYU on Feb. 16 and 17 before the Lopes return home to take on USC and Stanford in four matches from Feb. 23-March 1. Conference play will continue at Concordia and UCLA on March 21-22 and April 5-6, respectively, before GCU hosts the final matches of the regular season against Pepperdine on April 11 and 12.

Postseason play will take place in California with USC hosting the MPSF Championship from April 17-20 and Long Beach State hosting the NCAA tournament from May 2-4.
