Lopes senior guard scored team-high 25 points, added 3 steals
Grand Canyon senior guard Tyon Grant-Foster repeated as WAC Newcomer of the Week after being the Lopes' points and steals leader in a Saturday night home win against North Dakota State.
Grant-Foster, a 6-foot-7 guard from Kansas City, Kansas, made 11 of 20 shots from the field in producing a game line of 25 points, six rebounds, three steals and two assists. The scoring marked his third game of 25 points or more this season, when Grant-Foster already has recorded his career's four highest-scoring games in GCU's 4-1 start.
Grant-Foster's three steals also matched a career high, which he had set in the season-opening win against Southeast Missouri.
At 22 points per game, Grant-Foster is the WAC's leading scorer and has the 14th-highest scoring average in the nation.
GCU gets an early start in conference play this week with a Wednesday night game at UT Rio Grande Valley before returning to GCU Arena on Saturday night to face UT Arlington.
