GCU's Mitchell, Parrott, Strasser earn All-WAC distinctions
Grand Canyon's Klaire Mitchell was awarded WAC Setter of the Year and garnered all-conference status alongside teammates Tatum Parrott and Trista Strasser.
Mitchell, a graduate setter and now a three-time WAC Setter of the Year, made the All-WAC first team for the fourth consecutive season. Parrott, a sophomore outside hitter, earned her second consecutive All-WAC firstteam recognition, and Strasser, a junior middle blocker, received All-WAC second-team honors in her first year as a Lope.

Mitchell has collected nine WAC awards in her five years at GCU, including three WAC Setter of the Year awards (2019, 2020/21, 2023), four first-team All-WAC honors (2020/21, 2021, 2022, 2023), an All-WAC second-team recognition (2019) and the WAC Freshman of the Year award (2019). The Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, native earned WAC Setter of the Week five times this season as well.
The Lopes' all-time assist record holder reached the 4,000-assist club earlier this season, ranking seventh among active Division I players with 4,438. When November began, she was also only one of five active players to achieve more than 1,000 digs, and as of last Saturday was the only active player in the nation besides Oregon's Hannah Pukis with more than 4,400 career kills and 1,100 digs in Division I play. Mitchell is on track to break her single-season assist record (1,126) as well, entering the WAC Tournament with 1,004.
GCU (20-17, 13-3 WAC) notched nine sweeps during conference play this season with .300-plus hitting in all conference sweeps outside of one versus Southern Utah in late October (.271).
Mitchell leads the conference and ranks 18th nationally in assists per set (10.6) this season.
Succeeding offensively and defensively, Mitchell tallied 615 assists, 144 digs, 43 total blocks, 31 kills and 24 service aces during 55 conference sets.
TATUM PARROTT | All-WAC 1st team
The sophomore claims her third postseason conference honor after leading the WAC in total kills (416), points per set (5.3) and kills per set (4.5), ranking 23rd, eighth and 10th, respectively, in the nation as well. Parrott earned a spot on the WAC All-Freshman Team and was the only freshman on the All-WAC first team last season.
The Phoenix native led the Lopes offensively with 264 kills and 4.8 kills per set with .322 hitting during WAC competition. Parrott also posted 126 digs, 34 blocks and 16 service aces.
Parrott was awarded WAC Player of the Week on Oct. 18, after notching 50 points, 48 kills (6.0 per set), 10 digs (1.25 per set), two blocks, one ace.and .349 hitting on the week. She has had nine matches with .300-plus hitting during the WAC season.
