Klaire Mitchell claimed her fourth WAC Setter of the Week recognition of the season, while sophomore outside hitter
Tatum Parrott earned her first Player of the Week award after their performances on the road against UT Rio Grande Valley and California Baptist this week.
GCU (14-5, 7-1 WAC) defeated UTRGV in a five-set battle last Thursday, and notched its 10th road sweep of 2023 at California Baptist on Monday.

Mitchell, who previously received this honor on Aug. 30, Sept. 13, and Oct. 4, earns WAC Setter of the Week for a fourth time, recording 96 total assists, 20 digs (2.50 dps), 13.5 points, 12 assists per set, eight total blocks (1 solo), five kills, and four service aces.
The GCU Division I-era career assists record holder, delivered her eighth double-double of the season at UTRGV (50 assists, 12 digs), and tied her own GCU DI-era three-set match assist record (46) against CBU.
Mitchell leads the WAC in assists per set this season (10.31) while her total of 4,125 Division I career assists ranks eighth nationally among active players.

Meanwhile, Parrott, receiving her first Player of the Week accolade of the year notched 50 points, 48 kills (6.00 kps), 10 digs (1.25 dps), two total blocks one service ace.
The Phoenix, Ariz. native posted a .349 hitting percentage on the week, with .308 at UTRGV and .415 at CBU for her 10th and 11th respective matches of .300-plus hitting this season.
On Thursday, Parrott led the Lopes with a career high of 26 kills, the most by a GCU player since 2015, when Melody Horton tallied 27 to tie Natalie Tardy's DI-era program record from 2014, and a season-best 26.5 points against the Vaqueros. Followed by a record-breaking outing on Monday versus the Lancers, when she broke the GCU Division I-era three-set match kill record with 22 kills, previously set by Yeny Murillo (19 kills) in 2021.
The second-place Lopes host sixth-place Utah Valley (7-12, 4-4 WAC) on Thursday at 6 p.m. (Phoenix time) in Antelope Gymnasium and 10th-place Seattle U (6-13, 1-7 WAC) at 3 p.m. on Saturday in GCU Arena.
