HONOLULU – The No. 7 Grand Canyon beach volleyball team won its first game of the day against No. 8 Hawaii 3-2, then fell to No. 6 Loyola Marymount by the same score on Saturday at Ching Complex.

Krista Rowan gave the Lopes a 2-1 lead with a 21-19, 21-19 win on Court 4. The Rainbow Wahine then tied the dual again with a win on Court 1. It came down to the Lopes' No. 2 sophomore pair of

Allanis Navas, who had a 17-2 record and a 14-match winning streak coming into the weekend. They got the job done with a 21-15, 21-13 win that secured the dual victory over Hawaii and extended their winning streak to 15.

The Lopes and Lions battled all the way to the final court, but the Lions came out on top with the 3-2 win. Roskic and Sanchez won their second match of the day after a three-set victory over LMU's No. 5 pair to start the dual. On Court 4, the Lions defeated the Lopes to tie the score at 1-1. LMU pulled ahead with a win on Court 3 before GCU's Hansen and Navas won in straight sets to knot things up with one court to go. They are now 19-2 and rank third nationally for No. 2 pairs. LMU won 21-19, 21-15 on Court 1 to take the dual win.
