GCU goes 2-0 on Day 1 of Stanford Invitational

PALO ALTO, Calif. – The No. 7 Grand Canyon beach volleyball team kicked off the Stanford Invitational with dual wins over No. 11 California and Saint Mary's. The Lopes beat the Golden Bears 4-1 and then swept the Gaels 5-0 to complete Day 1 of the final regular-season weekend.

GCU continues to improve its record year, moving to 24-6 on the season. Sophomore Allison Hansen and Allanis Navas earned their 26th pair win against Saint Mary's and they both now hold the individual single-season win record. The previous individual record was 25 wins, which was set by Navas as a freshman last season.
