GCU defeats Abilene Christian, Texas A&M-Kingsville, Missouri State

The No. 7 Grand Canyon beach volleyball team swept all three duals in the Heart of Phoenix Invitational at GCU Beach Stadium Friday and Saturday. The Lopes took down Abilene Christian, Texas A&M - Kingsville and Missouri State to move to 8-2 on the season.

Day 1

No. 7 GCU vs. Abilene Christian

All five courts won in straight sets, taking down the Wildcats in the Lopes' first dual of the day. GCU held Abilene Christian to under 10 points in five out of the 10 sets.

GCU finished Day 1 of the Heart of Phoenix Invitational with its second consecutive sweep. The Lopes did not lose a single set against the Javelinas.

GCU celebrated its four seniors, Madi Relaz, Meagan McCall, Teagan DeFalco and Jess Vastine, before taking on Missouri State. The Lopes swept all five courts in straight sets to extend GCU's record to 8-2.
