GCU hopes to put up season-best times at Miami Invitational

The Grand Canyon men's and women's swimming and diving teams are heading to Oxford, Ohio, this week for the Miami Invitational.

The Lopes will suit up in hopes of putting season-best times on the board for this midseason event, their first competition in four weeks. This meet's field also will include host Miami (Ohio), Youngstown State, Dartmouth, Ball State, Ouachita Baptist, Ashland and Bowling Green.

Midseason invitationals are essential to a team's success because they are a great way to compare the team's best times to its WAC competition and they serve as a comparison to other top mid-major programs throughout the country.

GCU has not competed since Nov. 5, when the men defeated Air Force at home for their third consecutive dual victory.

The 32-event meet will take place starting Thursday and conclude on Saturday.
