Smith joins USAV development program staff

GCU assistant coach tabbed to work with nation's top U18/19 players
Grand Canyon men's volleyball assistant coach Keith Smith was selected to join the coaching staff for the USA Men's Volleyball National Team Development Program, as announced by USA Volleyball.
"The National Team Development Program is a great opportunity for these young athletes to get to work with various coaches from across the country and it is an honor to be a part of the U19 staff with all these other great coaches," Smith said.
The U18/19 coaching staff, led by Stanford associate head coach Ken Shibuya, will work this year's program at the USA Volleyball Training Center in Anaheim. California, from Sunday to Friday. Over the course of the week, Smith and seven other coaches will work with the top U18/19 players in the country.
Replacing the USA Volleyball High Performance Program, the National Team Devlopment Program increases the opportunity for athletes to be seen and evaluated as they pursue their ultimate goal of representing the U.S. on the national team. Athletes who attend are selected via a nationwide scouting network that identifies athletes at qualifiers, bid events and high school club tournaments across the U.S.
