STANFORD, Calif. – The No. 8 Grand Canyon beach volleyball team took down No. 10 California 3-2 and swept San Jose State on Day 1 of the Dartboard Classic at Stanford Beach Volleyball Stadium.

The Lopes got on the board first with a 21-12, 21-18 win from senior
Taylor Jarzombek and sophomore
Madi Relaz on Court 4.
On Court 2, sophomore
Teagan DeFalco and freshman
Allison Hansen took down the Bears 21-19, 20-22, 15-6 and brought the Lopes ahead 2-0.
Seniors
Natalie Honzovicova and
Katie Sarber dropped the Court 5 match 15-21, 13-21.
GCU's No. 3 pair of freshman
Allanis Navas and graduate student
Paula Hoffmann clinched the dual after winning 21-12, 21-18, breaking the single-season individual win record with 24 wins.
On Court 1, senior
Bella Bauman and junior
Anaya Evans fell 14-21, 15-21.

GCU's Navas and freshman
Alina Randall got the scoring going with a 21-8, 21-11 win on Court 4. Navas moved to 25 wins this season, making her the solo leader in Lopes history for wins in a single season.
On Court 2, DeFalco and Hansen won 21-9, 21-12.
The dual was clinched on Court 3 by Jarzombek and Relaz after winning 21-12, 21-10.
The lead moved to 4-0 when Bauman and Evans took down the Spartans' No. 1 pair 21-15, 21-13.
Sarber and freshman
Krista Rowan won 21-13, 21-9 on Court 5 to secure the sweep for the Lopes.
Up next, GCU has two tough matchups on Sunday, starting with No. 5 Loyola Marymount at 9 a.m. and will close out the regular season at 1 p.m. against No. 11 Stanford.
